Avalon Women's Health is the premiere midwifery service in northern New Jersey, with offices in Essex and Morris counties. Avalon midwifery focuses on the needs of the individual woman and her family for physical care, emotional and social support and active involvement of significant others according to her cultural values and personal preferences. Taking a holistic approach to women's healthcare, our certified nurse- midwives provide education and information women need to make informed and educated decisions about their health. We believe each woman deserves to be respected as an individual, with healthcare providers who truly listen to their clients, in order to provide both safe and satisfying care.

We at Avalon offer a full range of women's healthcare, including adolescent health issues, preconceptual counselling, obstetrical care, well-woman gynecology, family planning, menopausal management, cancer screening and more. Our offices in West Caldwell and Morristown are comfortable and family friendly. Our midwives strive to make each client comfortable during her visits with us, allowing adequate time for us to get to know you as an individual.

Avalon has joined with Morristown Memorial Hospital to provide the ideal setting for a wonderful birth experience. Morristown Memorial Hospital offers a quiet, comfortable birthing room for each family. Aromatherapy, birthing balls, showers and labor pools are just a few of the modalities that are available to laboring women for their comfort. Waterbirth is also an option available to women who are low risk. Your family and doula are welcome to join you as you desire. Our board-certified affiliated physicians, Nina Reynolds, MD, Fred Silverberg, MD, and Robert Steer, MD are truly supportive of our midwifery model of healthcare, and are available at all times for consultation. We also work closely with Atlantic Maternal-Fetal Medicine for those patients with risk factors during their pregnancies.
