As we continue to grow to better serve our clients, we have now moved to our own office in Morristown. Located at 25 Lindsley Drive, just behind the Westin Governor Morris hotel, we have much more space to be able to serve our patients. The new phone number there is 973-998-7922. Our hours there are currently Tuesday 1p-8p, Wednesday 10a-2p, Friday 9a-5p and alternate Saturdays 9a-1p. We look forward to expanding our hours in Morristown as need grows. We hope you enjoy our new home!

Here’s a very funny cartoon look at the ridiculous reasons for too many c/sections. While we’ll take it with a grain of salt, the fact is , it’s a little worrisome. Check out this YouTube video for a laugh!

We have outgrown our old office (just like your kids are outgrowing their clothes) and have moved effective 11/22. Our new office address is 526 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, just 2 blocks east from our former site. The phone numbers remain the same. We think you will like our new digs, which has an additional exam room, along with a bigger waiting area. Next up-a new Morristown office, which should be opening the first week of January. We appreciate all your referrals which have made our practice the premier midwifery service in New Jersey!

This article discusses the Cochrane Review of treatments for morning sickness, which shows there are no truly effective treatments for morning sickness in pregnancy. Although some treatments seem to help selected patients, it appears there is no single method that appears to be really helpful.

A very disturbing piece of information has come to light via Feministing.com concerning a recent position statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) concerning ritual female circumcision or female genital mutilation (FGM). Th AAP is condoning a “ritual nick” for those families who request. Many organizations all over the world are fighting for the cessation of this mutilation of girls. How dare the AAP apparently condone this?? I find this extremely disturbing, as FGM is know to cause painful intercourse, urinary tract difficulties, infection and even death when done under less than sterile conditions. It is a way to keep women from enjoying sex, and hence, controll their behavior. It is appalling to me that this occurs anywhere, and needs to be stopped to protect young girls and women worldwide.
